How to collect several pairs of sneakers without breaking the bank? Buy Panini stickers! This is the crazy idea of ​​the Colors Sneakers team , made up of Brussels residents Maxim Pien, David Portana and Gatien André. The three childhood friends from Brussels who have been collecting Panini stickers since they were little, managed to convince the sticker album publishing company to create a version dedicated solely to... sneakers.

Our project aims to highlight a culture, a universe and a way of life: Streetwear! It appeared in the early eighties, via the emergence of Hip-hop which contributed to the success of sneakers. We are passionate about them and are at the heart of our COLORS SNEAKERS BY PANINI project. A sticker, a unique pair, and you are once again that collector child in the playground.

"It was while listening to 'Incroyaux' by Caba&JJ while I was completing my Panini album with my brother that it clicked," Maxime Pien told the newspaper De Morgen .

Maxim then enlists his friends and it is the beginning of a great adventure. Once the design of the album is validated by the Panini firm, our three friends launch a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. The goal? to collect the 100,000 euros that will cover the costs related to the printing of 15,000 copies comprising 48 pages each and 350 stickers per album.

The first issue will contain a selection of the best sneakers of 2018, from the rarest to the most exclusive. "I can imagine myself in ten years' time leafing through an album to remember the hype of the time. A bit like when you look at old Paninis," Gatien told the Flemish daily. For now, the bet has not yet been won. According to De Morgen , the trio has so far only raised 4,000 euros for their project. We hope for their sake that sneakerheads will answer the call.
